Thank you honey for this picture! I really love it and I am so proud of you! I really learned today how to be in front of the camera…and I felt what my clients feel when I am photographing them! Of course I already have a connection with my husband, but I could not imagine what my clients feel when I ask them to feel comfortable with me. This has taught me to become more close to them and to get to know who they are! So, if you are my client, please call me! Let’s have coffee sometime!

Heart Stories Project

The non-profit organization Gap created a program for artists and non-profits to come together and complete a project that would create sustainability. Heart Stories and myself have partnered up to complete a series of interviews that would be presented to teachers through books and other materials! For the first interview, I went to the Classroom of Ms. Jenny Edwards and met Srgt. Bart Viers. I had the pleasure of listening to all the sweet comments and questions that he students asked him. The Sargent talked about his job overseas and even give the students a present…a bill and a flag from Iraq! How cool! Flowers and baby!

Our baby is growing so fast! He turned 8 months a couple of days ago and its so hard to believe that he is not a newborn anymore Now he is a crawler ! We are trying to keep him out of everything and purchased this mat so we can play with him!

God has really blessed us with this baby…! Its funny to think that I appreciate my parents even more after having Miles. Being a parent has not been easy, but WORTH it! My husband David has been helping out every step of the way and I could not thank him enough for supporting this family the way he has! Enjoy these pics! God bless you too.

Week #3 “Country + Horses”

Hi all! Here we go again. This week I got to go out on the country to visit some relatives, and found this amazing places to photograph. I was driving by and saw the horses in a stable and I immediately stopped! I had never had a chance to photograph a horse and it was crazy fun!

I did not realize how big horses were! OMG…they are huge! when I first saw them at a distance, I was like…” oh…so pretty” and when they started trotting towards me, I was like ” holy smokes, they are humongous…” Anyways, I got to pet on of them and they were so friendly!

Here is the funny thing, when I was photographing them, I so happy and excited, and one of them got really close to me, but I was loving it! After taking about 3 shots, I took the camera away from my face, and then I see this big mouth right here, I freaked out!!! Horses are sooo pretty…I did not know!

Week #1

I had a lot of fun this week photographing random things everyday. I had the chance of putting of the new concepts I am learning to practice. My favorite one is Miles’ picture! Let me know which one you love the most

Not much technique to this one, Just natural light. I like the blue sky in the back. I took it while walking Miles and the dog.

I like the composition of this picture. This is my dog Rio and he for once listened to me! I love the black and white contrast.

Here is my little adorable boy at the beach. I took this photo at about 1 pm…the brightest point of the day! I used a flash as my main source of lighting! Love it!

This was taken at about 8:30pm. I am using two lights, I love that crazy hair light. Thanks Vanessa, you are great model.

I took this at the studio. I usually don’t do studio shoots, but my brother and I wanted to try it out!

Thanks to my mom I have a spotless kitchen! Can you see Rio?? He is so dark, he looks like a bat Gracias mami..!

This was a hard one to take. I was more scared of the spider jumping at me, than actually getting a good picture. I did a good job though!

365 day photo challenge!

I decided to go on this challenge for a couple of reasons. One, I want to put myself in every lighting situation possible and get great amazing pictures. Second, I want to shoot something everyday…no matter what it is! I always feel a little rusty when I have not photographed in more than a week. Third, I am trying out new lighting techniques that I want to put to practice and get more comfortable with.

I will post them once a week and talk about how I got all of them. This is day one of the challenge, so here is my very first shot out of the 364 you are about to see.

In this picture I have one flash set up on a tripod and other one on my camera to balance out the main light. This was taken in our little office at home at about 8pm (right before bed time!)

I like the fact that the light is even all through the picture…his eyes are beautifully lit (taken in account our little office is quite dark).

I love comments, so leave one ( pretty please?!)
